The Woodstock Music & Art Fair’s first event was in the middle of August, back in 1969. It ran for four entire days, starting on August 15th and ending August 18th. It was held at Max Yasgur’s dairy farm in the town of Bethel, New York. The festival attracted over 400,000 people.
Many of the photos from the event have been lost in obscurity but only recently the images have been pulled out from archives and been touched up to give you a better sense of the fashion that took center stage when the music wasn’t playing.
